A Brief Description...
|
Albert Johnson was a man who just wanted to be left alone. The "G" Division of the RCMP had other plans for Johnson, who refused to get a trapping permit to set up traplines in Aklavic. Johnson eluded posses of determined trappers, trackers, police, indians and anyone else who wanted to become famous by assisting in the hunt for the Mad Trapper of the Rat River. Fighting against all odds, Johnson hoped to make it to Alaska without being caught, this would have bought him months of time in which the RCMP could not arrest him. After killing one officer and wounding two others, Albert Johnson was shot seven times, and crashed into the snow on the Historic Eagle River, dead. My goal is to find out the whole story from start to finish. This is an almost impossible task. Albert Johnson is almost unheard of where I live, and I need your help! If you have any information regarding Albert Johnson or know of any witnesses that would be willing to talk to me, please let me know:
